Map: OS Explorer Map OL30
1) Start from The Farmers Arms at Muker and walk up the snicket to the right of the pub. At the top, turn right and keep the row of houses on your left. Walk past the narrow lane that goes off to your left, that is where you will return later on. Carry on until you reach the post box then turn left and follow the flagged footpath through the seven fields to the River Swale.
2) As you pass through the last wooden gate before reaching the river, look left and take the footpath that goes off to the left and head for the stone barn.
3) The footpath takes you around the back of the barn and heads gently uphill almost back in the direction you came from (pictured above) and onto what is know locally as 'Lovers Lane'. This section is easily navigated and eventually brings you out through a metal gate and onto a tarmac track which, if you head downhill, leads you through a gate and back into Muker village. The Old Vicarage is to your right and the lane that passes by is known as 'Bull Alley'. Follow this to the end and turn right to where you started.
The Farmers Arms is open all day serving food from 12pm - 2:30pm and 6pm - 8:30pm
