The Farmers Arms - upcoming events Winter 2011/2012:

Well it's coming to that time of year when it quietens down and we need to try extra hard to encourage visitors and locals to venture out when it's cold, wet and windy and provide some entertainment on these dark winter nights. We have a few ideas for this winter, including a wine-tasting evening, 'Themed' evenings, and due to their popularity last year; our quiz nights will be back and also our 'Bullseye' night. So, keep your eyes and ears open, keep visiting this page, find us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and you won't miss out - and don't forget to spread the word and encourage friends and family along!

We appreciate any other ideas so if you have any suggestions, don't keep them to yourself - email us!

Annual Event (August)

Reeth Show - Agricultural Show

Always the last Wednesday in August; hosting a wide range of entertainments, shows, displays, stalls and refreshments, and not to forget - the Great Fremington Edge Fell Race which features every year as one of the main events. There will be the popular horse classes, sheep show, poultry and rabbit show, walling competition open to all entrants on the day, vintage tractors and this year a new section for vintage cars, vintage bikes will also be on display from all eras. Local trades will be selling their fresh dales produce and products as well as traders from further afield with something for everyone to purchase! And for the children; there are rides and stalls for them to enjoy and spend their pocket money on too.

Annual Event (September)

Muker Show - Agricultural Show

Classes for Sheep, Sheep Dog Trials, Handicrafts, Horticulture, Fancy Dress. Stone Walling Demonstration. Fell Race. Quoits Competition and of course, the Tug of War.

To finish off the day; the community and visitors all gather outside the pub and sing along to the Muker Silver Band (see Swaledale Sing-Song).
